Change Your Results by Changing Your Expectations
Our expectations get us into a lot of trouble and often cause a lot of stress. We expect our customers to always come back; we expect our boss to behave in a certain way; we expect the company we work for to take care of us; and we expect coworkers to be team players.
And when our expectations aren’t met, life is not good. Bad feelings, conflict, and unrest, are common symptoms. And, our business and our customers suffer.
Could it be that many of our expectations are misguided? Some well-founded expectations are obvious. If you order coffee in a restaurant, you expect it to be hot стиральные машины Venta … in Mc Donalds, you’d expect it to be very hot indeed!
But if you were to refuse to go to a certain restaurant because the waiter who served you had a ring in his ear, you’re in for a life of perpetual home dining, whether that might be good or bad. What are the causes of misguided expectations? Consider the following examples.
1. When customers don’t complain, is everything at its best? Certainly not! Studies tell us that only about 4% of customers who have a problem ever complain. In my seminars when I ask why, the two biggest reasons I get are that customers feel uncomfortable complaining, and they (the business) probably won’t do anything about it, so why bother?
Then we wonder why our repeat business is declining - as our dissatisfied customers tell their friends – not us - and then go somewhere else.
2. Did your company ever hire an hourly person for your department, and you instinctively considered this new employee to be a loser – and treated him accordingly – and proved yourself right?

Wall Street to Main Street: News, Views and Commentary: December 6, 2005
Blame the weatherman or the Doppler radars, very little snow hit the Northeast this morning and that could effect the Oil markets today on the negative side. Ford looks to trim down, Nike puts on it’s running shoes, Google connects advertisers with consumes with a click.
Ford (NYSE: F) has announced that they are looking to cut the fat by shutting down 8 Northeast plants. The question is will this become a trend in the U.S. Auto industry? , with GM on the ropes and now Ford shutting down plants which may ARDO FL 86 S wind up to be more than just 8, investors have to wonder when the bleeding is going to stop. Automakers Honda (NYSE: HMC) and Toyota (NYSE: TM) seem to be having better days than their U.S. competition. Ford closed at $8.06 on Monday.
Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) Time Warner seems to be having a change of heart with their direction as it relates to America Online. So as opposed to selling off the division it looks like they may be keeping the division and probably not by choice. For anything to sell you need a buyer but the numbers have to make sense, according to reports their price tag was almost double what the street estimated the value to be. Microsoft and Google may be good search engine partners for AOL, which would make sense. So we’ll follow up with this developing story in the coming weeks. Time Warner closed at $18.23 on Monday.
Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) being the internet industry innovator, lets just call them the “III” , is consistently adding new and innovative functions to it’s search engine. Their latest combines yellow page listings with a twist, consumers can actually view a listing and click on a button to have the selected company call them. This will not just revolutionize the functionality of online yellow pages but it will have an impact on the face of Internet advertising. So as price targets have been announced anywhere from $420 to $440 a share for Google, do not be shocked if there may be a stock split coming down the pike to make it more affordable for the average investor to own a piece of one of the fastest growing companies on the planet. 14 Get NHTSA Recognition for Improving Traffic Safety
Fourteen individuals and organizations from around the United States were recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for their accomplishments in improving traffic safety. They were given and presented with Public Service Awards by Jacqueline Glassman who is the NHTSA’s acting administration.
Organizations that were recognized held various types of work and made differences in traffic safety in their own ways. The American Academy of Pediatrics was recognized for its continued commitment to protecting children from crash-related injuries and death. The East Valley DUI Task Force of Arizona was recognized for its commitment in removing impaired drivers from the roadways making the roads safer for motorists. Greater стиральные машины Saturn Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association’s efforts in promoting traffic and safety initiatives in Ohio were recognized. Mississippi Primary Safety Belt Law Team and the South Carolina Primary Safety Belt Law Team were distinguished for their leadership and commitment to the passage of the primary safety seat belt legislation in their areas. And Westchester County Probation Department of DWI Enforcement Unit made their mark for their unique and innovative programs that assisted in deterring impaired drivers.
